Log sessions, update parents, bill per term — in seconds.

Tutor Session Log gives a private tutor one fast record for their teaching business: log each session in under 10 seconds, send the parent a polished summary the same day, and turn logged sessions into per-term invoices with simple paid/unpaid tracking. Single tutor, no accounts, no developer server — your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud Drive.

  • Today — upcoming sessions, one-tap “Log session”, and a Needs-attention list (unbilled sessions, overdue invoices, unsent summaries)
  • Students & Log — student records with rates and usual durations; chronological session history with fee shown as rate × duration, editable with a “Custom fee” badge
  • Parent summaries — branded draft generated from a token template, freely editable, then shared via your own WhatsApp / SMS / email; channel recorded
  • Invoices — one invoice per family per term (e.g. AUT26-001), outstanding dashboard, mark-paid with date & method, void/reopen audit trail, PDF + copyable term statement
  • Private by design — offline-first, on-device records, automatic backup to your iCloud Drive, full export anytime. No analytics, no ads, no tracking

One record: log → share → bill

The app never moves money — it records what happened and what is owed. Parents pay you directly; the app records payments you received elsewhere.

⏱️ Ten seconds to log

The session form opens with the student, today's date and the usual duration pre-filled. Confirm, add topics, tap Save — fee auto-computed as hourly rate × duration, rounded to the penny.

💬 Parent summaries

Warm, branded drafts (topics, 1–5 star understanding, your signature, optional “Sent via” footer). Edit freely before sharing through WhatsApp, SMS or email — no parent login, no portal.

🧾 Per-term family invoices

Siblings on one invoice as separate line items. Sequential numbers per term (AUT26-001…), editable due dates (default +7 days), PDF invoices and copyable term statements.

📊 Outstanding dashboard

“Outstanding: £X across N families”, overdue-first. Mark paid with date and method (bank transfer / cash / other). Paid invoices lock line items and linked sessions until voided or reopened.

📤 Export everything

Sessions CSV, invoices CSV, per-session calendar files (.ics), and a full JSON export — always available. Your exit path, built in.

🔒 On-device & calm

Local session reminders (default 30 min, quiet hours 21:00–08:00), overdue nudges at most once per 7 days, and automatic iCloud Drive backups (last 5 kept) with a clear health indicator.

Honest labelling — what Log4Tutor is not:

  • Not a payment processor — “Mark paid” records money you already received elsewhere.
  • Not calendar sync — “Add to calendar” downloads a calendar (.ics) file.
  • Not parent messaging — summaries go out through your own WhatsApp / SMS / email via the share sheet.
