Why Jaunt Log

Every place has a story.
Keep yours.

Jaunt Log turns visited places into a personal geographic history — not a social feed, not a checklist for strangers. A quiet, accurate record of where you’ve been and what it meant.

Discover

Find heritage sites, national parks, nature reserves, gardens and towns worth exploring — with offline maps that work even without signal.

Explore nearby & beyond

Explore

Your adventures, mapped.

Open Jaunt Log and see the landscape around you — heritage, national parks, nature, gardens, towns and landmarks — with clear visited / unvisited states and offline place data that doesn’t need a live signal to be useful.

  • Visited places, geographic progress — see counties and regions fill in as you wander.
  • Place categories — heritage, national parks, nature, gardens, museums and more, each with its own visual language.
  • Maps, quietly accurate — built with offline spatial data (including OpenStreetMap) for reliable place recognition.

Journal

Your journey, not just a list of places.

Jaunt Log turns visits into a personal journey log — chronological, geographic, and quietly yours. Each entry keeps its date, place, journey context and memories together, like a field journal you don’t have to remember to write.

📅 Date & place, together
No spreadsheet — a logbook. Chronological, browsable, personal.

Link images and words to the place they belong.

Photo discovery

Your photos remember where you’ve been.

Jaunt Log can use supported photo metadata already on your iPhone to help discover past visits from your existing library — so you don’t have to manually enter every place you’ve ever explored.

Privacy

Your journeys are yours.

Jaunt Log is designed around your personal data, not around collecting it. Your history is primarily managed on your device — no social profile, no account required, no advertising-focused tracking experience.

Local-first
Jaunts, notes and progress are stored locally using SwiftData and an offline spatial index. No Jaunt Log backend is required to use the app.
Photos stay with you
When you allow photo access, Jaunt Log reads supported date and location metadata on-device. Originals remain in your Photos library and are not sent to a Jaunt Log server.
No account required
Start exploring without creating another online profile.

We don’t claim “nothing ever leaves your device.” For example, map tiles and optional diagnostics may involve network requests as described in the app’s Privacy screen. See the in-app Privacy section for the accurate, current wording.
