Privacy Policy

Your habits stay on your iPhone.

TileArc: Habit Book is an offline-first iPhone app. This policy explains what data TileArc processes, where it is stored, and your choices. It is intended for App Store review and for users.

Summary

TileArc does not require a TileArc account and operates no server that stores your habits, entries or notes. Your habit book lives on your device. There is no analytics and no advertising tracking — the App Store nutrition label is Data Not Collected. The only network use in the app is Apple's own StoreKit, when you buy or restore Pro. This summary does not replace the details below.

1. Who we are

TileArc: Habit Book is published by M-PAX Group. For privacy enquiries, contact [email protected].

2. Overview & scope

This policy describes how TileArc handles information when you use the iOS app and when you visit this website. The app is local-first: every core feature — habits, entries, notes, streaks, reminders, the widget, export — works without a TileArc backend, because there isn't one.

We do not make claims such as “nothing ever leaves your device” without qualification: where a feature necessarily involves Apple (buying Pro, restoring purchases) or a destination you choose yourself (an export file you share), it is disclosed here. The in-app Privacy screen, if present in your build, should always be treated as the authoritative description for the shipped build.

3. Information TileArc processes

TileArc processes only what is needed to run your habit book, and only on your device:

CategoryExamplesPurpose
Habit definitionsNames, emoji, colours, scheduled days, creation datesShow your habits and compute grids and streaks
Daily entriesWhich habits were filled on which datesFill tiles, streaks, stats and the year grid
NotesDiary Entries / Battle Log lines you writeAttach your words to dates; included in exports
PreferencesChosen style (Sakura / Shonen), appearance, outfits, reminder times, widget habit choices, onboarding stateRemember your settings and theme
Purchase stateWhether Pro is active (derived from Apple's StoreKit)Unlock Pro features you paid for; restore on reinstall

TileArc does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or identifiers for advertising. There is no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK phoning a developer server.

4. On-device storage

Your habit book is stored as files on your iPhone (habit data in a local JSON store, preferences in the app's local settings store, shared with the widget through Apple's app-group container so both see the same data). If you use iCloud device backups, Apple's backup may include the app container under Apple's terms — TileArc itself uploads nothing anywhere.

The app's fonts (Nunito, Caveat) are bundled with the app; they are not fetched from the network.

5. No account required

TileArc does not require you to create a TileArc account, sign in, or provide an email address. There is no TileArc-hosted profile containing your habits. The launch-list email on this website is entirely separate: it is a plain email you choose to send us, and it is never linked to any in-app data (which we cannot see).

6. Notifications

Reminders are optional, per-habit local notifications scheduled on your device. They are not a mechanism for sending your habit data anywhere: no server schedules them, and no server knows whether you acted on them.

See Apple — Change notification settings on iPhone.

7. Home-screen widget

The widget (small = 1 habit, medium = up to 3) reads a snapshot of your habits from the same on-device store the app uses, and tapping a habit in the widget writes through the same on-device engine — so the app and widget can never disagree. The widget involves no network and shares nothing outside your device. It is free and is never used for advertising.

8. Purchases (TileArc Pro)

TileArc offers an optional Pro upgrade (Monthly, Yearly, Lifetime) sold through Apple's StoreKit 2:

We receive no per-user purchase data beyond what Apple provides to developers in aggregate (e.g. sales reports without your identity). If you email us a receipt to ask for help, we use it only to help you.

9. Export & import

Export creates a JSON file (tilearc-export-<date>.json) containing your habits, entries, notes and settings in an open, documented format. Import reads such a file back. Both are user-initiated: nothing is exported unless you tap it.

10. Third-party services & website

Apple platform services

TileArc uses Apple frameworks only: SwiftUI, WidgetKit, StoreKit 2 and UserNotifications. Their use is subject to Apple's privacy policy and your device settings.

This website

This site is static pages with no forms, no accounts and no analytics scripts. The only “send us data” action is tapping an email link, which opens your own mail app. Standard web-server logs (e.g. from the hosting provider) may record ordinary request metadata; we do not use them to profile visitors.

11. Data sharing

We do not sell your habit data, notes or settings to anyone, and we do not build advertising profiles. Short version: there is nothing to sell, because we never receive it.

Data leaves the TileArc context only as follows:

12. Retention & deletion

Your data is retained on your device until you delete it:

We cannot delete data from systems we do not control (e.g. an export file you emailed to yourself, or Apple's purchase records, which Apple retains under its own policy).

Where UK GDPR / EU GDPR applies, we process on-device habit data to perform the contract (provide the app you requested) and on the basis of your consent where you grant optional permissions (Notifications). You may withdraw consent by changing the permission in iOS Settings; this does not affect prior processing. Because processing stays on your device, most “controller” obligations are exercised directly by you in the app.

14. Children

TileArc is a general-audience habit tracker with no account, no chat, no user-generated public content and no advertising. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children for profiling or ads. Guardians should use Apple's Screen Time and Family Sharing controls, and ensure the App Store age rating is appropriate. Have this section legally reviewed before publication.

15. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your information, and to object or withdraw consent. Because your habit book is on your device, you can directly access, correct and delete it in the app. To exercise any other rights, contact [email protected].

UK users may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

16. Security

Our security strategy is minimisation: no account, no server copy, no analytics pipeline — so there is no developer-side database to breach. On your device, data is protected by iOS platform security (device passcode, encryption, sandboxing). No method is 100% secure, so we avoid claiming it; instead we describe the actual measures: local storage, OS-controlled permissions, and Apple's platform security.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. The “Effective” date at the top will be updated and, where appropriate, we will note changes in release notes or in-app.
